Computer "running" alot
Hello! I am attempting to find help with my computer and I thought I might type of this forum to seek some assistance. Last week I ran a disk cleanup and defrag. I also added software for my new TomTom and updated Spybot which upgraded to version 1.5.2. Just a side note, I am currently running Windows Xp Serivce pack 2. Since all of this activity last week my computer has been "running" alot. It will run for awhile and then stop and then run again. It almost sounds like it is doing some type of scan. I spoke with computer support at work and he helped me to end some processes. This problem is still persisting. When I minimize things the screen closes slowly. I am not sure what I need to do to fix this problem. I have not done a last known good config. yet. I am at the point of frustration that I am almost ready to save all of my work and reimage the hard drive. I am not super computer savoy, but I do know how to do this with some assistance. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do instead of wiping out the hard drive? One last note, I uninstalled Spybot. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Tiff
